Khamis Suleiman

Khamis Suleiman is the Chief Executive Officer of Sanlam General and a former chairman of the Association of Tanzania Insurers (ATI). He has been a prominent figure in the Tanzanian insurance industry, particularly in addressing the challenges posed by politically motivated incidents and their impact on insurance coverage. Recently, he discussed the implications of the election-related unrest in Tanzania, highlighting that standard insurance policies generally do not cover losses from political violence unless clients opt for an extended Political Violence and Terrorism (PVT) policy. Suleiman emphasized the need for brokers to educate clients about the importance of such coverage, especially in urban areas prone to unrest.
