Dr. Kichiro Matsumura is the head of the Pediatric Surgery service at the Central Hospital of the Instituto de Previsión Social (IPS) in Paraguay. Recently, he addressed the Council of Administration about the critical challenges facing the pediatric surgical unit, including structural deficiencies, heavy workloads, and a severe shortage of medical personnel.
