Kim Mathis, 61, moved from Orlando, Florida, to Dublin with her husband, Richard Reep, to support their daughter studying at University College Dublin. Concerned about the safety and political climate in the U.S., particularly for their transgender daughter, they sought a more secure environment in Ireland and decided to pursue a retirement visa as their best option.
