Mizukami is a partner in two companies, including Smart Tax, which is alleged to be a front for receiving bribes, and Dac Bank, a fintech that reportedly facilitated suspicious financial transactions totaling R$ 54 million. Authorities have traced a dramatic increase in her reported income, from R$ 411 thousand in 2021 to R$ 2 billion in 2023, raising suspicions of her involvement in a money laundering scheme linked to corrupt practices within the state's tax department.
