Kirilas, also known as Patriarch Kirill of Moscow, is the head of the Russian Orthodox Church. He has been a prominent religious figure since his election as patriarch in 2009, advocating for traditional Christian values and the role of the Orthodox Church in modern society. Kirilas has also been involved in various ecumenical dialogues aimed at improving relations between different Christian denominations. Recently, he was in the news for extending his congratulations to the newly elected Pope Leon XIV and expressing hope for strengthened ties between their respective churches.
