Kiti Svanholm

actress Denmark

Kiti Svanholm, born Kirsten Svanholm, is a Danish actress who gained fame in the late 1960s for her roles in adventure films, most notably as Gungala in a Tarzan film. Her promising career was tragically cut short in 1970 when she sustained severe burns covering 75% of her body during a film shoot in Florida due to a pyrotechnics accident. After struggling with her injuries and receiving little support from the film industry, she was rescued by herbalist Jovan Šaljić, whose traditional remedies helped her recover. Svanholm became a beloved figure in Yugoslavia, often visiting the country and even recording music in Serbian. She has since lived a full life, marrying and raising two sons.
