Kitsao Jefwa

Kitsao Jefwa is a seasoned fisherman from Kilifi, Kenya, who has dedicated over 55 years to the trade, following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather. He owns two deep-sea fishing boats and employs 58 fishermen, landing an average of three tonnes of fish daily at the Old Ferry landing site. Despite his success, he faces significant challenges due to a lack of cold storage facilities, leading to substantial financial losses and threatening the livelihoods of his community.
