
Kizzie Shako
Dr. Kizzie Shako is Kenya's first female police surgeon, a pioneering forensic physician dedicated to addressing issues of gender-based violence and enhancing forensic services in the country. With a medical degree from the University of Nairobi and a Master's in Forensic Medicine from Monash University, she has significantly contributed to the training of police, prosecutors, and medical staff on forensic principles. As a human rights defender and mother of two, Dr. Shako has also established the Vunja Kimya Foundation, focusing on educating communities about violence prevention and supporting victims of gender-based violence.
