Korina Corado
Korina Corado, a 61-year-old transgender woman, is a dedicated activist and coordinator of Pintando Arcoíris, a support group for LGBTQ+ seniors. Having faced significant challenges throughout her life, including discrimination and the loss of friends to HIV and violence, she has emerged as a leader in the community. Korina previously led Vida Alegre, a day center for LGBTQ+ seniors that was closed in 2022, but she continues to provide support and activities for this often-overlooked demographic. Her personal journey of self-discovery began at a young age, navigating societal prejudices and a lack of acceptance, which fueled her commitment to advocacy for LGBTQ+ rights and visibility.
