Kristina Torsson

Kristina Torsson is a renowned Swedish fashion designer and co-founder of the iconic clothing company Mah-Jong, which emerged in the 1960s with a vision to create sustainable and timeless fashion that stood against the commercial trends of the time. Born into a culturally engaged family in 1940, she was influenced by her parents' artistic backgrounds and pursued a career in textile design after studying at Konstfack. Her work with Mah-Jong became a pivotal part of Sweden's fashion history, promoting principles of equality and solidarity within the textile industry. Following the closure of Mah-Jong in 1976, Torsson founded Vamlingbolaget in Gotland, continuing her commitment to sustainable fashion.
