Kristy Crates

Kristy Crates is a resident of Christchurch who gained attention for her response to a stranded mako shark at Sumner Beach. Disappointed by the lack of immediate action from authorities, she went to the beach to offer assistance, arriving to find that the shark had unfortunately died. She later reported that a group of people had come together to bury the shark.
