Ktrich Nersisyan

Ktrich Nersisyan, better known as Garegin II, is the current Catholicos of All Armenians, the supreme head of the Armenian Apostolic Church. He has been in the news recently due to accusations from Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan regarding violations of celibacy, which has led to calls for his resignation and potential expulsion from his residence in Echmiadzin. The conflict between Nersisyan and Pashinyan has intensified over the years, especially following the 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh war, where Nersisyan publicly criticized Pashinyan's leadership and called for his resignation.
