Kudzai Kanyepi

Dr. Kudzai Kanyepi is Zimbabwe's first female cardiothoracic surgeon, having qualified in 2019 and becoming a trailblazer in a field historically dominated by men. With over 100 surgeries performed, she faces daily challenges of misogyny and skepticism in her profession, yet remains passionate about her work and committed to improving healthcare in Zimbabwe. Kanyepi aims to mentor future generations and establish a foundation to support young girls from disadvantaged backgrounds pursuing careers in medicine.
