Kyril Ilyashenko, a courageous 13-year-old from Sumy, Ukraine, was recently recognized for his heroic actions during a missile attack on his city. While traveling on a bus with his mother to a training session, Kyril found himself in a life-threatening situation when the vehicle was struck, leading to a fire that trapped passengers inside. Displaying remarkable bravery, he climbed out of a window and helped others escape from the burning bus, despite suffering injuries from shrapnel. In acknowledgment of his bravery, the Sumy City Council awarded him the 'For Merits to the City' III degree and presented him with a two-week vacation to a children's camp in Bulgaria.
