Lacey Ritson

Lacey Ritson is an 18-year-old from Whitehaven, England, who is preparing to embark on an architecture degree at Newcastle University. Growing up in the shadow of Sellafield, Europe's largest nuclear site, she reflects on the pervasive influence of the nuclear sector on her hometown, where many of her family members work. Despite the pressure to pursue careers in nuclear, Lacey seeks to carve her own path in architecture, becoming one of the few peers from her school to pursue higher education.
