Lagle Parek

Lagle Parek is an Estonian politician and activist, known for her involvement in the movement for Estonian independence and her efforts to commemorate the victims of Stalinism. She played a significant role in the 1985 gathering at Hirvepark, where the secret protocols of the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact were publicly disclosed. This gathering marked a pivotal moment in Estonia's struggle for freedom, as discussing the pact was considered a crime at the time. Parek later initiated the establishment of a memorial for the victims of Stalinism, which was completed in 2018, highlighting her dedication to preserving the memory of those affected by oppression.
