Laísa Lima
Laísa Lima is a Brazilian samba musician and the newly appointed mestre de bateria for the Arranco do Engenho de Dentro samba school, marking a significant milestone as one of the first women to hold this prestigious position in the history of the Sapucaí. She is the daughter of the late Luiz Fernando Ribeiro do Carmo, known as Laíla, who was an influential figure in the samba community and passed away due to COVID-19 in 2021. Laísa has previously served as a director of tamborins for the Beija-Flor de Nilópolis samba school, where she honored her father's legacy. Committed to showcasing the role of women in samba, Laísa aims to inspire future generations through her leadership in a traditionally male-dominated role.
