Lárus Orri Sgiurðsson has been appointed as the head coach of the men's senior team at ÍA, taking over from Jón Þór Hauksson. At 52 years old, Lárus is a former professional footballer and national team player, having grown up in Akranes and played for ÍA's youth teams before moving to Akureyri.
