Lasha Koiava

Lasha Koiava is a former head of the medical department of ground forces and a veteran of the 2008 war in Georgia. He recently testified before a temporary investigative commission examining the activities of the government and political figures during the regime from 2003 to 2012, particularly focusing on the events surrounding the August 2008 war and the situation in Georgia's occupied territories. Koiava revealed that he was aware of impending military actions as early as February 2008, noting that intensive training was ongoing, and he was tasked with ensuring the field hospital was operational by late May 2008.
