Laura Boaventura Andrade

In 1988, at the age of 14, Laura Boaventura Andrade became a national sensation in Brazil after correctly predicting the murderer of the iconic television character Odete Roitman in the popular soap opera 'Vale Tudo.' Her guess, that the character Leila was the killer, was one of only three selected from three million entries in a nationwide contest. Winning the contest brought her a significant prize of five million cruzados, which she hoped would help her financially struggling family.
