Lê Xuân Thành, 36, hails from Kỳ Anh, Vietnam, and previously worked in the Golden Triangle Special Economic Zone in Laos, where he was involved in illegal online gambling operations. In early 2023, he and his associate were deceived by a woman named Hà My, who promised high-paying jobs, leading them to facilitate the trafficking of 20 individuals into exploitative labor situations. Eventually, Thành was sentenced to 14 years in prison for his role in human trafficking.
