Lea Masari, born Ana Marija Masetani on June 30, 1933, in Rome, was a renowned Italian actress known for her impactful roles in film and television. She adopted her stage name in honor of her late fiancé, Lea, and went on to achieve significant acclaim in Italian cinema with her debut in the 1955 film 'Zabranjeno.' Masari's career flourished as she starred in notable films such as 'Avantura' and 'Kolos sa Rodosa,' collaborating with celebrated directors like Sergio Leone and Louis Malle. After more than 60 films and numerous television performances, she chose to retire from the public eye in 1990. Masari passed away on June 23, 2023, just a week before her 92nd birthday, leaving behind a legacy as one of Italy's cinematic treasures.
