Leidy Hoyos

Leidy Hoyos was a dedicated educator and community leader in Colombia, known for her commitment to teaching and improving the lives of her students. She worked at the Escuela de la vereda Las Planadas in the rural municipality of El Rosario, Nariño, and was an active member of the teachers' union, Simana. Tragically, she was murdered alongside her husband, José Miguel Samboní, in a violent attack that highlighted the dangers faced by educators and community leaders in regions affected by armed conflict.
