Leon Wood

Leon Wood is a forestry worker from Taupō who has been closely following the case of Tom Phillips for years, driven by a passion for the welfare of Phillips' children. Wood reported having encountered Phillips multiple times during his time in hiding, and he expressed deep concern for the children's safety amid the father's evasion of law enforcement. He described his efforts to locate Phillips, including disguising himself and using binoculars to monitor the area, and he was present when Phillips was ultimately shot and killed by police, a tragic outcome that left him devastated.
