
Leonardo Mendolicchio
Leonardo Mendolicchio is a prominent Italian psychiatrist and psychoanalyst, recognized as one of the leading experts in the field of eating disorders. Born in Foggia in 1977, he graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Foggia in 2002 and later specialized in Psychiatry at the University of Bari in 2006. He has held significant positions, including the medical director of Villa Miralago, Italy’s largest therapeutic community for eating disorders, and is currently the head of the eating disorders department at the Auxologico Institute in Piancavallo. Mendolicchio is also a member of the Lacanian School of Psychoanalysis and the World Association of Psychoanalysis, and he has authored numerous publications on epidemiology and psychoanalysis related to eating disorders. He gained recent media attention for defending journalist Selvaggia Lucarelli against derogatory comments made by Fabrizio Corona regarding her body.
