Leonora Tima

Leonora Tima is a South African activist and the founder of Gender Rights in Tech (Grit), a digital platform designed to support individuals facing gender-based violence. Her initiative was sparked by the tragic killing of her pregnant relative in 2020, which highlighted the pervasive issue of violence against women in South Africa. Tima's work focuses on creating innovative solutions, including a chatbot named Zuzi, to provide a safe space for users to report abuse and seek help, while also emphasizing the importance of community-driven technology in addressing these challenges.
