Leopoldo Francisco Maldonado Gutiérrez is a legal representative and director for Mexico and Central America of the non-governmental organization Artículo 19, which focuses on freedom of expression issues. He has recently been in the news for his involvement in a legal case before the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (SCJN) in Mexico, where he is advocating for the Campaña Global por la Libertad de Expresión A19 in an effort to challenge aspects of the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (T-MEC) related to copyright and freedom of expression.
