Lesja

Lesja is a 53-year-old economist from Ukraine who has become a symbol of resilience amidst the horrors of war. During the Russian invasion in March 2022, she was violently assaulted by Russian soldiers in her home, an event that also led to the tragic death of her husband shortly after. Despite the trauma, Lesja has bravely reported the assault to authorities, aiming to seek justice and shed light on the sexual violence faced by many women during the conflict.
