Leslie Osterling

Leslie Osterling is a photographer and visual artist known for her poignant storytelling through images. As a cancer survivor who experienced hair loss, she deeply understands the emotional impact of losing one’s hair and identity. Her recent project, Hæirloom, showcases the powerful stories of women in Ollantaytambo, Peru, who create natural hair wigs, transforming their hair into symbols of economic independence and empowerment. Her work has gained international recognition, having been exhibited at the Peruvian Embassy in London and featured in the London Design Biennale, where it sparked discussions on sustainability and the value of discarded hair.
