Lesly Mucutuy
Lesly Mucutuy is a 13-year-old indigenous girl from Colombia who gained national attention after she was one of four siblings rescued in June 2023, having survived for 40 days in the Amazon rainforest following a plane crash that claimed the lives of their mother and two adults. As the eldest sibling, Lesly took on the responsibility of caring for her younger brothers and sister during their ordeal. Tragically, she later became a victim of abuse by her stepfather, Manuel Ranoque, who was recently convicted of aggravated sexual assault against her.
