Leyla Brashka

Leyla Brashka is a talented artist from Torreón, Mexico, who is leading a significant cultural project that aims to showcase and celebrate the Wixárika heritage through the creation of a monumental deer sculpture called Kauyumari. This project, which involves the collaboration of 18 Wixárika artisans and various other artists, will be exhibited at the Burning Man festival in the United States. Brashka emphasizes the importance of honoring indigenous roots and the spiritual significance of the deer in Wixárika cosmogony, as well as the project's role in providing financial support to the Wixárika community.
