Lía María Gómez Feliz
Lía María Gómez Feliz was a 19-year-old dedicated young leader from Barahona, Dominican Republic, who had recently been recognized by the Young Congress for her exemplary performance as a youth deputy. A law student at the Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo, she was passionate about community service and had a dream of becoming an ambassador. Lía was known for her commitment to helping underprivileged children, teaching ballet, and participating in leadership programs, including a trip to Boston to explore diplomacy. Tragically, she lost her life in the Jet Set nightclub disaster, along with her best friend and several family members.
