Liao Chiung-chih

Liao Chiung-chih is the General Affairs Department Director of the Legislative Yuan in Taiwan. He has come under scrutiny following allegations that he attended a dinner hosted by executives from Taikoo Motors Ltd., which is seeking to import electric vehicles from the Chinese firm BYD. The Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) has raised concerns that his presence at such a lobbying event may have violated ethics guidelines designed to prevent conflicts of interest for civil servants. Liao has stated that he has no business dealings with the attendees of the dinner and denies any wrongdoing.
