Lidiya Korennykh

Lidiya Korennykh is a long-time resident of the ghost town of Krasnogorsky, Kazakhstan, having moved there in 1980. She recalls the vibrant community that once thrived in the area, where her husband worked as a firefighter and she served as a chief of a sewing factory. Today, she remains in Krasnogorsky with her husband, despite the town's decline and the exodus of its inhabitants, which has left it largely abandoned. Lidiya's story reflects the bittersweet memories of a once-prosperous settlement now struggling against the passage of time and the challenges of depopulation.
