Liel Gliksman is a former soldier in the Israel Defense Forces who served in the Golani Brigade during a recent conflict. After sustaining injuries in battle, he began to experience symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), which significantly impacted his daily life, making it difficult for him to leave his home. His journey to recovery took a positive turn when he discovered the 'Challengers' program, an initiative by the 'Atgarim' organization in collaboration with GO of Tnuva, which uses adventure sports to support war veterans. Liel has found solace and healing through activities like sailing, where he feels a sense of freedom and safety, a stark contrast to his experiences in combat. He emphasizes the importance of community and shared experiences in overcoming the challenges of PTSD.
