
Liev Davidovich Trotski
Liev Davidovich Trotski, born Lev Davidovich Bronstein in 1879, was a key figure in the Russian Revolution of 1917 and the founding leader of the Red Army. A Marxist revolutionary and theorist, he was instrumental in the establishment of the Soviet state but later fell out of favor with Joseph Stalin, leading to his exile. Trotski's life ended tragically in 1940 when he was assassinated in Mexico by a Stalinist agent, Ramón Mercader, marking a significant event in the history of Soviet politics and the international communist movement.
