Lígia Maria Salgado Nóbrega

Lígia was a dedicated student and a militant of the Vanguarda Armada Revolucionária Palmares (VAR-Palmares), who tragically lost her life during the Chacina do Quintino in 1972. She was pregnant at the time of her death, which occurred during a police siege, and her story highlights the violent repression faced by political activists under the Brazilian military dictatorship.
