Lila Commission

The Lila Commission, formally known as the Presidential Commission of Inquiry into post-election violence, was established by President Samia Suluhu Hassan to investigate allegations of criminal conduct following the post-election violence in Tanzania. Chaired by Court of Appeal Judge Shaban Lila, the commission's formation has sparked legal challenges regarding its legitimacy, as activists argue it was established without proper constitutional authority after the conclusion of a previous commission.
