Lila Marangou

Lila Marangou was a distinguished Greek archaeologist and professor, recognized for her significant contributions to the study of ancient Greek art and archaeology, particularly in the Cyclades and her native Amorgos. She served as an emeritus professor at the University of Ioannina and was a member of the German Archaeological Institute. Marangou's extensive research and publications have had a lasting impact on the field, and she was also the first scientific director of the Museum of Cycladic Art. Her legacy includes mentoring generations of new archaeologists, fostering a deep appreciation for the cultural heritage of Greece.
