politician Taiwan

Lin I-hsiung is a prominent Taiwanese lawyer and democracy advocate, best known for his role in the pro-democracy movement during the late 20th century. After being wrongfully imprisoned for treason following the Formosa Incident in 1979, Lin became a symbol of resistance against the authoritarian rule of the Chinese Nationalist Party (KMT). He suffered a personal tragedy when his mother and twin daughters were murdered in a politically motivated attack related to his activism. Despite this immense loss, Lin continued to advocate for democracy in Taiwan, founding the Chilin Foundation and engaging in various civil society movements.
