Lisa Stuart is a dedicated bushland ranger at Healesville Sanctuary’s Coranderrk Bushland Nature Conservation Reserve in Victoria. With nine years of experience, she has focused on restoring swampy habitats to create optimal ecological conditions for wildlife, specifically Leadbeater’s possums. By planting 140,000 trees in an eight-hectare floodplain, she has worked to enhance mid-storey vegetation, which is crucial for the possums' movement and foraging needs. Her emotional connection to the habitat restoration efforts was highlighted when she expressed joy upon seeing the possums utilizing the nest boxes she had installed.
