Liu Yanxiang

Liu Yanxiang is the Chief Expert at the Public Meteorological Service Center of the China Meteorological Administration. Recently, she gained attention for her insights on the relationship between extreme weather patterns, such as cold air outbreaks, and the increased risk of influenza transmission. Liu emphasizes that climate change contributes to more frequent and severe weather events, which can negatively impact human health by lowering immunity and increasing susceptibility to illnesses like the flu. She is involved in developing a national influenza meteorological risk forecast in China, aimed at helping the public understand and mitigate health risks associated with changing weather conditions.
