Liviu Ciobotariu is a Romanian football manager and former professional player, known for his contributions to Romanian football both on and off the field. At 54 years old, he has recently been appointed as the head coach of FC Petrolul Ploiești, signing a two-year contract. Ciobotariu has a rich history in coaching various Romanian clubs including FC Botoșani, Dinamo București, and FC Vaslui, as well as a stint abroad with teams in Saudi Arabia and the Lebanese national team. As a player, he was part of Romania's esteemed 'Golden Generation', participating in the 1998 FIFA World Cup and the UEFA Euro 2000.
