Liviu Corfaru

Liviu Corfaru is an engineer known for his significant contributions to the construction of Romania's railway infrastructure, particularly the Deva – Brad railway line, which was inaugurated in 1987. He played a crucial role in the complex engineering challenges of the project, which included numerous tunnels and viaducts across difficult terrain. Despite the initial success of the railway, it faced operational challenges and was ultimately discontinued in the late 1990s due to natural disasters and lack of maintenance.
