He was educated in military and political institutions in Egypt, Ghana, and Tanzania, which equipped him for leadership in the struggle for freedom. Tembe's contributions to improving the living conditions of Mozambicans were recognized by President Daniel Chapo, who honored him following his passing at 88 years old.
