Lorena de Sousa

Lorena de Sousa is a mother who faced the devastating loss of her newborn daughter Ana Cecília due to a hospital infection at the Clínica Pediátrica da Região dos Lagos in 1996. In the years following her tragedy, Lorena became an advocate for better healthcare and justice, joining the collective effort of the 'Mães de Cabo Frio' to ensure that the lives of the infants lost are not forgotten, and to challenge the systemic issues that led to their deaths.
