Lou Pearlman was an American music producer and promoter best known for creating popular boy bands such as the Backstreet Boys and NSYNC. However, he became infamous for orchestrating one of the largest Ponzi schemes in the U.S. history, defrauding investors of hundreds of millions of dollars before being arrested in 2007 and sentenced to 25 years in prison.
