Louis Tebogo Moholo-Moholo, affectionately known as Bra Louis or Bra Tebz, was a pioneering South African jazz drummer and a key figure in the free jazz movement. Born on March 10, 1940, in Langa, Cape Town, he was a founding member of the influential band The Blue Notes and spent much of his life in exile due to apartheid oppression. Moholo-Moholo's vibrant performances and unique style left an indelible mark on the jazz scene, and he was celebrated for his passionate spirit and commitment to uplifting his community. His passing on June 13, 2025, at age 85, marked a significant loss for the world of music.
