Lu Nhat Vu (1936-2025) was a celebrated Vietnamese composer renowned for his contributions to revolutionary music, including well-loved songs like 'Bai ca dat phuong Nam' and 'Co gai Sai Gon di tai dan.' A graduate of the Vietnam National Academy of Music, he dedicated over fifty years to enriching Vietnamese culture through music, particularly focusing on the folk sounds of the southern regions. His works often reflect the spirit of the Vietnamese people and their history, and he collaborated closely with his wife, poet Le Giang, in preserving and promoting traditional Vietnamese folk music.
