Lubaina Himid

Lubaina Himid is a British painter and curator, born in Zanzibar, recognized as a pioneer of the Black Arts Movement in Britain during the 1980s. She is celebrated for her vibrant artworks that address themes of race, identity, and the representation of women, and was the first Black woman to win the Turner Prize in 2017.
